They are seen sipping a flat white in a country café and go unnoticed all the time, something totally unheard in India, especially Tamil Nadu where movie stars are considered God’s own avtaars!

It has been a common practice in Tamil Nadu for senior actors to aspire for the Chief Minister’s chair upon retirement from the cine industry and superstar Rajinikanth and universal hero Kamal Hassan are no exceptions here.

Rajinikanth announced his foray into politics on December 31, saying his yet-to-be-floated party will contest in the 2021 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Pineapple Rasam

 INGREDIENTS

  • Pineapple pieces – 1 cup
  • Freshly grinded pure pineapple juice – 2 cups
  • Chopped Tomatoes – 1⁄2 cup
  • Turmeric powder – 1⁄4 tsp
  • Green chillies, slit - 3
  • Rasam powder – 1⁄2 tsp (optional)
  • Jaggery or sugar – 1 tsp
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
  • Few fresh curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tsp
  •  For seasoning

  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • A pinch of asafoetida
