It is indeed wonderful to hear that India’s magnetic and dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted New Zealand PM John Key’s invitation to visit this beautiful country next year.

John Key recently led a business delegation to India that was cut short when the Royal New Zealand 757 air-craft could not take off from Townsville in Australia where it stopped primarily for refueling purposes. After two unsuccessful attempts Mr Modi’s foreign policy to take off, it was decided not to to use the same aircraft and a replacement plane was sent from New Zealand to take the stranded delegates to their destination after skipping Mumbai, as they had lost the valuable time allocated for this city – the business and financial was appreciated across the hub of India.

Mr Modi has visited our neighbouring countries– Australia and even Fiji in recent times but had skipped New Zealand.

Dum Aloo Biryani

 Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced onions - 1 cup
  • SPICES: Cloves, Bay leaves, Cinnamon, Anise, Shahi jeera, Cardamom, pepper corns
    (4 or 5 nos)
  • Green chilles - 1 or 2
  • Mint and Coriander leaves (chopped)-few
  • Potatoes - 3 or 4 - peeled and chopped into cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger - Garlic paste
  • Basmati rice - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 8-10 tbsp
  • Cooking Oil - for deep frying
